Peepy Easter

I like to bake cakes. I needed an excuse to bake one. Easter was that excuse. This cake was awesome.

It is so damn hard to find real peeps these days.

The color was actually hot pink due to the addition of frozen raspberry and a box of jello mix (shhh!). This photo is lit by the fridge. And taken with my phone. Deal. Oh. And the peeps look particularly disheveled as we left them out over night and they got a wee bit melty....

I absolutely cannot believe the color of the cake! Even though I hesitate, my draining saliva says that it looks scrumptious! =)

I'm not a huge fan of brightly colored food for many reasons, but this cake was awesome. The color comes from a half a bag of frozen berries and a box of raspberry jello. I find that food with a lot of coloring tastes crappy, but this one didn't. My thought being that jello is made to be heated AND brightly colored so it doesn't come out tasting like playdough. I am a HUGE fan of this cake.

I especially like the tilted Peeps! How do you find time to do these projects with 40 acres growing a foot a day with all this rain???? Hugs to you! Love, Jennie

It's easy to find the time when you're unemployed and you neglect to mow either of my meadows ;) and my mom has been such a big help!
